Female Infertility Causes And Conditions
Infertility is an issue for many couples around the world and some have even suggested that it affects at least one in four couples. Couples are told to try and conceive for at least a year, and this can be shocking for many who assume conception will happen immediately.
When looking at infertility there can be several different issues that couples face. Female infertility causes can range from hormonal problems to issues with fallopian tubes or endometriosis. Problems can also occur with males that include low sperm counts, sperm mobility problems or even the inability of the sperm to penetrate an egg, all of these issues must be ruled out in order for a doctor to determine the best course of action for a couple.
In order to find out what is the cause of the infertility, a physician will perform tests to find out what is happening. There is not just one female infertility test or male infertility test that can show what is occurring during the monthly cycle. These tests can take months to complete and this can be frustrating.
Since there can be many female infertility causes it can require some invasive tests to find out if the issue is a female problem. These tests can range from blood tests to having to have surgery and a woman needs to be prepared for the full range of testing to be done.
Some Female Infertility Causes
One of the first things when considering female infertility causes is looking at hormones. Hormones play an important part in fertility; they are responsible for producing and releasing the egg and then maintaining the uterus for conception. If any of these hormones are out of balance, this can be one of the female infertility causes that are interrupting conception.
A physician will run blood tests and watch hormone levels through out the month to determine if there is a breakdown in the hormones that is preventing conception. There are fertility drugs that can be used to enhance ovulation to help with conception if this is a concern.
Another of the female infertility causes has to do with problems with fallopian tubes or the uterus. Some women have structural problems where the uterus isn’t shaped properly or the fallopian tubes have been damaged due to endometriosis or pelvic inflammatory disease that has cause scar tissue to damage these organs. Surgery is needed to evaluate these conditions and if it is found that the damage is extensive, other option to conception may be suggested such as Invitro Fertilization where a woman’s eggs and sperm are placed in a petrie dish for conception to occur and the developing embryo is place back into the uterus.
Keep in mind it can take months to do all of the tests required to find the female infertility causes, treatments can also take time but the end goal of having a baby with today’s technology can be realized.
